Financial Literacy Week Update

As part of Financial Literacy Week taking place across Canada from October 30 – November 5, ABC Life Literacy Canada will host a national online forum focused on providing Canadians with financial literacy knowledge for their specific life stage. Tune in to http://www.ustream.tv/channel/life-literacy-live Life Literacy Live on Tuesday, November 1 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. ET to hear from five guest panelists as they talk about the most important financial issues at various life stages: child, student, young adult, mid-life/parent and senior. Each segment will discuss the top issues you’ll need to know at your life stage, and how you can address those issues and improve your financial literacy.

Check out the panelists:

Stephen Ashworth, Senior Vice President of Operations and Education at Junior Achievement Canada will speak to the child cycle, and show parents how they can engage their kids in money management and teach them financial skills at a young age.

Moneyville.ca editor Adam Mayers will address key financial issues for post-secondary students.

Preet Banerjee, financial columnist for The Globe and Mail and the W Network's Money Expert, will talk to young adults and covers key areas of concerns for them – from investing to addressing debt.

Dan Bortolotti, finance journalist and Senior Editor at MoneySense magazine, will speak about competing priorities for adults in mid-life, as well as saving for your child’s and your own future.

Jeanette Brox, a Senior Financial Consultant at Investors Group will discuss the senior cycle – what you need to know at this stage, including how to stretch your money in retirement.

The online forum will also feature guest speaker Craig Alexander, Chief Economist for TD Bank Group.
